5 Minute Dark Chocolate Coconut Almond Bark & Creativity

After a few fun-and-food-packed days, the kids are wiped out.  Daniel, especially.  He dug deep into the energy well and got his sister to ride bikes and scooter yesterday despite the failing light and their fatigue.  He promised to build his littlest brother a Lego ship and did so, only yelling once when sad brother dropped it on the floor and the giant beast dog came running to investigate.

By the time we got to dinner, Daniel was done.  Energy zapped.  Manners out the window.  Appetite nil.  Rudeness quotient elevated to such an extent that Adam sent Daniel to his room.  “Not like I care,” he yelled down from the top of the stairs. “I can just play Lego all night anyway.”

I am proud to say that not only did Daniel stay upstairs as he was asked, he also busied himself with his Lego, building all manner of houses and spaceships and, as you can see by the photograph, working on his spelling.  Like a rude, Lego-inclined tooth fairy, really.  Or a terrible turn-down service.

After the kids were in bed, I melted chocolate, hand-toasted some coconut, and made 5 Minute Dark Bark.  Perfect for a real chocolate-on-the-pillow treat.

  1. Sigh…creative use of lego indeed.. 😉

Your chocolate bark looks like just the thing when a serious sugar kick is needed…
